Interested in joining the UGA Sailing Club? Come out to Ramsey August 26th for our first meeting of the year! We will be meeting at 7 PM in room 205. We will be discussing what exactly the sailing club does, dues, regattas, practices, everything else you want to know, so come out! If you can’t make it, be sure to SUBSCRIBE TO OUR LISTERV. We will be sending out minutes from the meeting for those who missed it. See everyone Monday!
Come learn more about the UGA Sailing Club and what we do at the Club Sports Fair tomorrow, Wednesday, at Tate Plaza! Us sailors will be there from 10-2, so stop by and say hello! While you’re on our website, be sure to register to our listserv (instructions are found on the listserv tab above) and check out our other sites!
The University of Georgia Club Sports is currently holding a competition on Facebook! If we win, we will receive a $100 Nike gift card as well as more allocated funds for next year (which would help us buy new boats, etc). If you all would go to the Club Sports page on Facebook, there are pictures with different teams on it. Find the one with us on it and comment with “sailing”! It would be great if we could win this! Here is the link to the Club Sports page:
We had a busy weekend this past weekend. The team headed up to Clemson on Saturday to compete against 8 other schools in the North Points #2 Regatta. Despite the snow and freezing temperatures, the team had a great time! After returning from Clemson, the club held a Learn-to-Sail day at Sandy Creek Park. We had a good attendance and had a lot of fun! If you’re interested in learning how to sail or joining our competing team, join our listserv and keep following our website! Go Dawgs!
Our first Learn-to-Sail day of the Spring is here! It will be on March 3rd. It is free but you must have signed a waiver! Sign up to sail here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjL5gPvndofwdG0yX05SSWphN3EzUVlTbmNyOEFWMGc&usp=sharing
If it fills up, we will open more hours before and after, but please fill these time slots first! Feel free to bring a friend!
